The Queens Chronicle wrote about the latest efforts to install speed cameras in every school in the City. Sen. Peralta introduced a bill in the Senate that would allow for New York City to install these monitoring devices in all schools, eliminating the current 140 camera limit. Another bill would authorize the cameras to operate 24 hours a day. The paper quoted the Senator, “Having speed cameras in every school will deter speeding or reckless drivers from leaving the scene of an accident, and will also help reduce traffic deaths and injuries,” Peralta said.
